His middle name means 'protector' in the tongue of his people, and his last name means 'warrior'. While his father has proven he lives up to that name, Ayumu isn't really a violent person. He just gets dragged into fights. However, both meanings are combined when he fights to protect someone who needs it, which he would do without a moment's hesitation. Of course, this makes him reckless. Ayumu is just a mere traveler for the time-being, but he was inspired by Dr. Redbeard and so hopes to become a talented doctor using only natural, herbal remedies. Along with anything that entails, not just plants (i.e. aromatherapy). This is his ultimate goal, but while he has dedicated his life to learning how to save lives, certain situations can push him to take them just as easily. Caring, and yet detached.
