The 110th annual Kamiki Festival had begun to take place this very night, and many from all over Nippon have come to celebrate the deaths of Yami and Akuro, enjoying the endless peace that was given to them. It was time to eat, drink, and be merry! The Great Amaterasu had decided to attend the festival, enjoying the attention she was getting from the villagers and the guests. She had decided to attend in case something were to occur, but she was also here to partake in the festivities; to enjoy herself. It had been too long since she had came to the land of mortals, having defeated Yami after what seemed like yesterday. Knowing that the reign of darkness was over gave her a sense of relief, feeling content with the peace she had restored to the land of Nippon and Kamui. It was time that she had left the Celestial Plain to watch over the people of Nippon, keeping a close eye on them.[/style][/style][style=background-color: #736659; font-family: georgia; font-size: 9px; color: #f4ebdc; width: 425px; padding: 5px;]TAGGING: open to all WORDS: didn't count NOTES: grand event starts now![/style][style=font-family: small fonts; font-size: 8px; text-transform: uppercase;]credit to crayola of love stamp[/style]

Post by REIKONFUMETSU on Dec 1, 2011 15:27:39 GMT -5
The Night had finally covered the world in a blanket of soothing darkness. The stars had been lit, like the thousands of candles burning in a temple. The world of Human was akin to a temple after all - a vast, enormous temple. This was a very special night, of all the nights and it was today... or rather tonight, that Reikonfumetsu had finally arrived home. He used to tell people that Earth was his home and the Sky was the roof he lived under, but he had roots in Kamiki village, even if few from here knew about it.
Reikon walked through the village, enjoying the sight of fireworks, stalls filled with different foods, young people and couples in general playing different games - be they traditional or new, and the usual different activities one could participate during the festivities. A small, content grin had never once left his face during the first hour of him being here.
Finally, evading a few children running around, Reikon stopped before a mask shop which offered quite the selection. There were a lot of high-quality masks, crafted with great care, but only two piqued his interest - an orange Kitsune mask and a blue Oni mask with a sinister grin. Reikon quickly grabbed both and turned towards a mirror that was placed not too far away. He put on both masks one after another and quickly made his decision... sure the Oni mask was good... but he liked Kitsunes better. There was that one time when he and a very beautiful demon fox lady had quite a few drinks in the forest at midnight... ah - the good old times.
Having paid for the mask, and he gave twice as much its worth without accepting any change, the Shaman instantly donned it on his face. Sure - it was good-looking... but more importantly that way no Celestial God or a very devoted priest would be able to recognize him. Not that he had a feud with Gods... no... but as the saying goes: "Better safe than sorry."... or was it "Better salt than curry?". He could never quite remember that one.
Grinning wider under the mask Reikon started formulating pranks in his mind. What better way to celebrate than having some fun at expense of others?!
"This is going to be a night to remember for a loooong time. Hai-hai... heheheh."

It was the reason she continued leaving Wep'Keer, even without the companionship of her sister. Or anyone else for that matter. Even though she was a priestess, Sakurako couldn't understand why most of her tribemates believed that meant she shouldn't be traveling as much as she did.
Being an oina was no excuse, but there were many who tried to make it such. Really, there were just many people who made excuses not to leave the safety of their own homes, and Sakurako pitied them. They would never experience adventure or the thrill of surprises you could only experience while traveling. Like foreign festivals for example. Sakurako was wearing the only kimono she had with her, but of course it was clean. She had also taken the liberty of bathing before coming here as well, so everything about her was clean in reality.
Apart from the obvious.
Everyone seemed to be in a very festive mood, and that made Sakurako very happy. She loved festivals just as much as the next girl, so she knew she was going to enjoy her time here. She was just about to head over to the people who were dancing, but decided against it. And just started wandering around, admiring the set up the people put so much work into putting together for this day. [/style]

Recently, she had been doing more and more things that Zakuro would definitely not approve of, and with good reason. This little detour to this festival was no exception to that. But Kamiki was her home village! How was she expected to skip this festival when she knew it was coming? Yes, it could technically be considered a 'religious' festival in nature, which was technically not her thing, but Kagura had never missed it before when she could help it, was she expected to change that now?
Yes, said the voice of reason, yes you are. And she knew it. Her life was dangerous now, she shouldn't be surrounding herself with people. Putting one person at risk made her feel guilty enough, but now she was completely torn. These were people she knew from her childhood, and here she was, putting them in danger. Granted, most of them -- or at least the ones who remembered what her brother had done -- probably wouldn't feel very comfortable with her being there. But, she doubted anyone would speak up.
But honestly, they shouldn't have to.
She only hoped no one would bring it up, it wasn't exactly a pleasant memory. Nor was it something she was particularly fond of being reminded, even though she reminded herself of it daily. Wasn't that good enough? That she reminded herself? She thought so, it wasn't like anything had been her fault in particular. She shouldn't be subject to their judgment. But she understood the nature of fear, and so typically made no protest of anything. So, as Kagura walked around, scanning the food being offered, she couldn't help but hope everyone would allow for the remain in the past for tonight. That was she was asking.
After all, didn't she deserve some of the peace they were celebrating?
