Yep, that's right, Izumi. The very first thing you should know about Sakurako, is that she prefers to be addressed by her last name, Izumi. Not for respect or anything complicated like that, she just likes it better. There can be any ending tacked on to it (Izumi-chan, Izumi-san, Izumi-sensei, etc), she just likes that name more. She'll also accept nicknames, such as 'Izu', but only from close friends among her tribemates. She'll respond to being addressed as any of her names really, she just prefers Izumi. Izumi was born and raised in Wep'Keer, just like any other member of her tribe, and eventually became a priestess. However, because she enjoys traveling, some of her people have come to refer to her as a traveling priestess, something Izumi does not agree with them on. However, she doesn't really spend a lot of time correcting them, since not all of the oina are happy with her occupation of choice. Not that she really cares, as its her life. She may not be the priestess of any specific temple, but she's doing what she loves to do. Usually, Izumi takes a friend with on her travels: her fraternal twin sister Manami. Either Manami or someone else from Wep'Keer will normally go with her, but Izumi can take care of herself. Despite being quite clumsy -- and actually rather frail -- she can hold her own in a fight as long as she can use her archery abilities. Izumi will not allow lack of company to stop her from traveling, because on those travels she often meets people who need help. And Izumi will work diligently to help anyone who needs it, to the point of making herself sick. Which is why her health is so unstable. She quite easily will take the burden of the world on her own shoulders, and if something goes wrong she is very prompt to feel guilty about it and blame herself. Don't worry, she'll find a way. In addition to that, if she stumbles upon a bad situation she will take it upon herself to fix it. You could call it OCD, but the term really doesn't quite do it justice. Though she does seem to have a minor case of that in the cleanliness department, as she can be a bit of a germophobe sometimes and keeps things neat and tidy. But, most women are. She must seem perfect right? Well, she's not. Izumi has a bit of a temper too, something she doesn't restrain against the people she's known the longest from her tribe. She can be witty and sarcastic, and her stubbornness only seems to intensify the sharpness of her tongue. She also has this thing against being wrong to one of her closer friends, and will go through her own stages of denial. But not to herself, she'll acknowledge it to herself. She'll just be more likely to make the other person apologize, either first or just instead altogether. Apart from that, she makes a great friend. Loyal, and easily an excellent confidant, she loves to have friends because she believes that she is helping people in a way that not everyone can. Of course, she makes her own fair share of enemies too. However, while most men will double-take at the sight of her, she is not very experienced in the romance department. Friends she has plenty of, and will continue to make more of them. But she has never had a significant other before. Human, oina, dragonian, it really wouldn't matter to her. Like any woman, she does dream of finding 'the one' eventually, but she only does that occasionally. She feels selfish whenever she does. |
